Saving the world with (not in) video games

This is a really good idea.


  1. It is a good idea, and you can already contribute to those projects with normal PCs. I wish Dell and its ilk would bundle things like this with its new machines--they load so much other crap on their new PCs that one more couldn't hurt, and would be an act of community service.

  2. i don't think consoles are there yet. they aren't optimized for floating point calculations, and typically run slower processors. not to mention they aren't designed for 100 percent constant utilization so they don't have the appropriate heat sinks to keep you from toasting your processor in six months. Curing cancer is all well and good until one day you can't play Halo.
