's an article from Focus on the Family's CitizenLink alert today. It's about media bias -- FotF argues that the media's treatment of Mark Felt, in contrast with its treatment of Linda Tripp, demonstrate a liberal bias. A million points to the person who can explain how this connects to family interest issues.
I can't figure out why you still ask this question, after all the things they've said that have nothing to do with family values. They're just a conservative organization trying to sound legitimate by focusing on "values".ReplyDelete
I bring up the issue again just to drive home that point a little bit further. Not everybody who will read this post already knows what their agenda is really about. I think I'm going to start referring to the organization as "Focus on the Republican Party". The fact that conservatives and Republicans have established dominion over words like "family" and "values" and "morality" is perhaps the grossest injustice in American politics today, and I'll take every opportunity I can to try to explain that they don't have to go together with conservativism or the GOP.ReplyDelete
Dear Johathan, It's a good date to explain that June 4, 54 years ago, happens to be the birthday of your natural mother, Janie, who loved you beyond reason. Do you really think that she thought that little growing embryo was worthless, that its destruction would hurt no one? Give me a break. Who do you think you are, some kind of accident that turned into a boy on delivery, a man on graduation from college, and all those other miracles that deny love, nourishment, growth, and life experiences of all sorts and kinds? I'm disappointed in your attitude, but that won't make me love you any the less. It is all a process toward real wisdom, Jonathan. Love, GrandmaReplyDelete
I guess one important question is whether the personhood of an embryo is necessary for the significance of nourishment, growth, love, and other life experiences. I certainly think that those things are very important, but I don't really see what that has to do with the personhood of embryos. I am, after all, a person (and not an embryo).ReplyDelete
