It may have been worse had the 49ers lost. At least this way we're likely to get the first pick in the draft. Not that I can see a real discernable difference between number 1 and number 2 this year...
I assume you mean, 'had they WON'. And yeah, that's a bright side. We should be poised for a great draft, although I fully expect Donahue to trade down from #1.
Of course, we had a great draft this year, and not much to show for it yet. Maybe the investments will pay off with time.
